Ever since I became aware of what was taking place around me, seniority was something that, without knowing its definition at such an early age, had a tremendous impact in the way I behaved. Basically anyone older than me had to be treated with due respect and listened. This behavior was probably the result of combining learning through watching and fear to be punished for not following the unwritten rules that were under the respect for seniority.
As I grew older I realized the importance of those rules.
